Solve: x² − 6x + 8 = 0

Ax = 2 and x = 4 Bx = −2 and x = −4 Cx = 1 and x = 8 Dx = 3 and x = 5

Answer: A

Factors of 8 that add to 6 are 2 and 4 → (x − 2)(x − 4) = 0.

Q2Quadratics

Solve: x² − 49 = 0

Ax = 7 Bx = ±7 Cx = ±49 Dx = 49

Answer: B

x² = 49 → x = ±7 (difference of squares).

Q3Quadratics

If f(x) = x² + 2, find f(4).

Answer: B

f(4) = 4² + 2 = 16 + 2 = 18.

Q4Quadratics

Factor: x² + 7x + 12

A(x+2)(x+6) B(x+1)(x+12) C(x+3)(x+4) D(x+2)(x+10)

Answer: C

3 and 4 multiply to 12 and add to 7.

Q5Quadratics

Solve: x² − 3x − 10 = 0

Ax = 5 and x = −2 Bx = −5 and x = 2 Cx = 5 and x = 2 Dx = 10 and x = 1

Answer: A

(x − 5)(x + 2) = 0 → x = 5 or −2.
